Christmas Trees in Scotland

This one was a festive aerial photography assignment for our drones, working with Dan Eden Photography to capture the Christmas tree harvest for Bolton Christmas Trees

Winter had already set in, so we packed our thermals and with Dan and Jamie from Bolton Christmas Trees we headed up to the farm in Scotland hoping to find enough snow to bring some sparkling white to the shoot.

Having spent some time filming in the depth of Finland’s winter we were comfortable and prepared with the processes needed to keep things spinning in the freezing temperatures – the potential hazards of freezing fingers and batteries running slow.

We got the shots we wanted, and some more, and took it all back down to Manchester for post-production.  Lunar combined Dan’s footage and voice-over to edit the short piece you can watch here.

It was a pleasure working with Dan, Jamie and farmer Anders,  and a fascinating insight in to the process of getting our Christmas tree to our festive living rooms.

I couldn’t be more impressed with your professionalism work ethic and skill with the drone, some of our actors were a little wooden to say the least! , your relaxed friendly style and willingness to just keep going, made the whole thing stress free, without your advice regarding shots and audio we wouldn’t have got even close to what you helped us achieve. Our existing customers love the film and we are seeing a steady flow of new leads of the back of it. A genuine big thanks
